Creative Assessments/Differentiation:
Student Work
There are many ways to assess student learning. Often as teachers we stick with the same assessment strategies. However in the 21st century there are multiple ways to assess students learning. Sure we can use paper tests, but we can create learning projects (Project Based Learning) that allow students to create videos, and presentations that involve music, video, and any other interest they may have as a learner. This is differentiation. My students can choose tests that involve creativity and right brained skills, but also more linear left brained assessments are available to them as well. This allows students to find assessments in their own comfort zone in order to maximize chances of success, but also allows me to challenge them in different ways.
